Operative correction of legs' form

The International Centre of Anthropometrical (Orthopaedical) Cosmetology and Correction offers the unique possibility to correct curved (O- or X-form, bandy, bowed, bent) legs.

Legs form correction

The correction procedure

The most impotant is the fact that we succeeded in reducing significantly the period of treatment and traumatism of surgical treatment. The period from the moment of the operation till the end of the treatment when the patient can walk with a full load lasts 6-7 weeks. After the operation there is a scar on each shin 2-3 cm in length which becomes invisible in a few monthes. During the treatment the patients are active, the day after operation all of them find it easy to move about without any help.
It is significant to note that the process of correction is gradual, it lasts from 7 to 14 days. The course of the treatment continues up to the moment when the physician and patient consider the corrections to have been improved and the optimal esthetic results have been obtained.

Legs form correction

A patient before and after correction

The external fixation apparatus specially designed in our clinic is served for corrections. It is applied on both legs during the operation. The operation and the following treatment are of cosmetic nature but besides have impotant prophylactic significance. The legs become straight and even as a result of the extremity axis correction and this facilitates the uniform load distribution on the glenoid surface of the knee joint. Besides this correction of the extremity axis prevents the development of degeneration in adult and old persons.

During the treatment we use special computer system  for the surgery planning and determination of individual parameters apparatus dynamic characteristics.
