Commonly, lengthening which does not interfere with proportion between shinbones and thighs is 5-7 cm (2" -3"). Besides, lengthening within this limit is much safer. The maximum lengthening in our Center for cosmetic reasons was 10 cm. Apart from purely esthetic reasons, the maximum lengthening is limited by individual stretching capabilities of soft tissues, as well as regenerative capability of the bone tissue. However, since the condition of the patient is always under our physicians' control, there is very little in the way of dangerous complications. Only by using the cosmetic limb lengthening technology which was worked out by Dr.Yegorov, is it possible to significantly decrease the level of any side effects and complications. At our Centre hundreds of cosmetic leg form correction and leg lengthening operations were performed. And we have not had any serious complications in all these cases. All our patients are healthy and satisfied by the operations' results.
